Tulip

When I first bought this ball of beautiful 4ply it reminded me of the tulips I had been given by a friend, rich purple, bright yellow and vibrant red flowers with lush green leaves...

...after a long germination....here's a six petalled..

...multicoloured....

...tulip...

...hooked with two strands of fabulously fizzy 4ply...

... the backside stitches were richer,
more texture and colour variations...

...three narrow and three wider petals...

...from the plarn snowdrop petal pattern...

with .....

.....stamens of knotted wool ends...

...and a needlefelted middle...

A blooming bright 17g busted!

So creative! It is just like one of those crazy parrot tulips that have the fuzzy edges and are all different colours! xx

Love all the bright colours! What a beautiful flower with a pretty surprise in the centre ... I'd been knitting up some flowers too, about a week ago, and had planned to blog about them (and then promptly forgot!). Have a great weekend Ali. Wendy x

I had to pop across and see what all the spiralling is and I've been very impressed with all your creativity. The tulip is wonderful but I'm liking the spiral hat and the yarn covered easter egg has possibilities for Christmas too. I'm being very good at busting my fibre stash but given I've been doing quite a bit of spinning my yarn stash is growing quite quickly.

Can't believe I've missed so many lovely posts from you, must find time to visit more often.
