Secrets and Lace!

There has been a flurry of activity in Random Wooliness HQ...however most of the creations are secrets - for birthdays, other celebrations, or yet to be revealed items! There is an ever growing pile of projects waiting for some natural spring light to be photographed...but I think as many need to be wrapped and given away this week an indoor photo session will be required.

So in the meantime, as Kate requested a while back, here is a small part of our collection of  lovely  lace creations by my mum
beginning with a promise of spring - Snowdrops.

The first lacey gift from mum something new and blue

- 16 years ago - my wedding garter!

Some Christmas decorations

Tricky to photograph - I only spotted its blurriness when everything was safely packed away!

A hooty owl:

and a delicate Easter Egg

Wasn't sure which background showed it off best  - so you can choose!

Beautiful and intricate - I wish I had half her patience and concentration!

They are so beautiful Ali, I love the snowdrops and I like the easter egg on the pink background, although the blue shows off the colour of the yarn better. I know what you mean about taking photo's it's so hard to get good lighting at this time of the year. :)

Wow those are amazing! I really love the owl and the easter egg. That's pretty awesome that she made your garter as well.

Aw I hate when blogs have to wait on secret present... you should just be able to ban people for a limited time. ;)

Oh my! I tried working with thread and a teeny tiny needle and my fingers were like big ol sausages. I just don't have the dexterity or the patience for it. Your mom's work is beautiful! Hope you are having a great day. Tammy

Your mum's lace work is beautiful Ali! It's something I'd love to try sometime When you see lacemakers in action it all looks very complicated and I imagine that it requires a lot of concentration to know which bobbin to use next! Probably not something you can do whilst watching telly!
Thanks for sharing these pics.
