Flowers inside and out!

For my birthday, in the spring, I had some Dahlias to plant. It was a mixed bag and if the leaf shapes and sizes are anything to go by there will be many different blooms!

This is the first to flower:

Looking forward to some more colourful flowers over the summer!

Talking of which...here's one I prepared earlier!

...a little random wooliness for a friend's birthday.....

...needlefelted onto a commercallyproduced bag using Rowan Biggy Print.

I'm hoping one day I'll be needlefelting onto my own wet felted items........

Lucky friend :) I love dahlias, they always cheer me up when I see them in the garden.

That dahlia is stunning, I love the way the colour seems to bleed in from the edges of the petals. Lovely bit of needle felting. I just love the colours in that wool. You must give 3d felting a go. It's not hard, just very time consuming!

I always admire your needle felted wool creations, Ali - I always needle felt using wool tops and never have any success when using yarn. I love the zingy colour combinations of that flower against the plain background of the bag! Liz x
